Robbo/Keane/Eric/Rooney/Carrick

Too many shite ones to mention, but p4p Pogba, Sancho, Antony all absolutely shocking signings. AdM would be in there if we hadn't recouped most of his cost.

Best: Rooney. Whoever signed him was getting the (at that time) the greatest raw talent in football. Generational etc.

Worst: Fellaini. A categorical full stop to the Fergie era. Protracted signing for an absolute bum player who should’ve never been anywhere near a United shirt. A club in effect announcing that it really was all over and that mediocrity (and worse) beckoned.

Who’s your best signing?

Oh well it could have been Cole but he players 2134 minutes and Cantona played 1254 minutes: when I look at what the XG was during them minutes I need to take in to consideration the number of saves Schmeichel made versus Van der sar. Then when I think about the average minutes played against the price paid I have to….:…

Assume the thread is about the buzz, anticipation and excitement of the best signing, and with that being said, it has to be Pogba.

The link-up with Stormzy was a madness. Yutes up and down the land were dropping dabs on a daily. The culture; the vibes.

World record transfer, Florentino Perez in tears, the hashtag hype and Likes was unprecedented. #Pogback.

Worst was probably this mess:

Obertan playing in MLS third tier right now...

Was probably most excited when Veron was announced. Easily the best midfielder in the world at that time. Couldn't believe what followed

Best signing though - Cantona

Worst - Pogba

Nedved would have suited us more at the time.

Rooney - You knew how good he would be under the tutelage of Sir Alex. A close second is Ferdinand.

Least favourite- Pogba - a YouTube footballer living off a couple of clips.

It wasn't his decision. He was given a share as a 'joke' and then asked for his share and the laughing stopped.

I’d forgotten/repressed that Gill encouraged the Glazers to buy up shares as protection for Fergie against Coolmore, probably why SAF was so reluctant to rock the boat when they were on the brink of taking over

He was given a share in the horse by Coolmore as he was their 'pal' and they wanted to keep him sweet. They just wanted him as a face for good publicity leading the horse in after wins etc and he then naively thought he was a bona fide owner of the horse and would get breeding rights (which is where the big money is). Coolmore were obviously not that stupid and stitched him up. He should have just walked away but he thought he was bigger than them.
