He usually does a belting job with hard working, defensive types in midfield and defence.. but then, you know, Lindelof...

That's true, whatever happened to that Drogba fella?

There's also the point that he was more of a battering ram than the type of mercurial talent I was referring to.

He is best known for his career at Chelsea, for whom he has scored more goals than any other foreign player and is currently the club's fourth highest goal scorer of all time.

If only Mourinho had the foresight to add Et'oo and Milito to the Inter side, they might have gone on and become the first Italian side to win a treble.

Again, 28/29 year olds. Hardly talent spotting.

Since when did managers have to find a 15 year old from Timbuktu?

A complete nonesense argument. It is knowing what a team requires, and addressing it correctly.

The argument was that Mourinho doesn't identify, utilise or improve young attacking players, citing 2 players he signed at nearly 30 years old hardly disproves that.

Literally everyone was after Drogba at the time ffs Abramovich just blew everyone else out of the water.

Mourinho's wildcard pick during the same window was Mateja Kezman

You're assuming he wouldn't have won the league with them in the team. Events since have proven he didn't have better.

This notion that you have to go out and sign some kid who nobody has seen play football reminds me of the shite that Arsenal fans used to come out with in an attempt to claim Wenger was up there with Fergie.

Ohhh....he was 28. Who gives a £#%&!, they transformed them to treble winners and had the most successful season in Italian history. Maybe he should have signed a 17 year old from Panathinaikos reserves.

And you said he couldn't identify attacking talent...which is blatantly mental given the evidence provided. Unless there is some white text i'm missing.

We bought van Persie to win us the league Ferguson never identified him as an attacking talent though.

It's implicit isn't it? Surely you don't have to identify Samuel Eto'o as a potential top attacking signing ffs, or even Milito who'd just had the season of his life in Spain, or even Drogba, who as mentioned had everyone in Europe after him.

The idea of identifying talent is spotting someone off the radar or up and coming.

If I took over a club and decided we needed Messi and Ronaldo I'd hardly be identifying attacking talent would I ffs
