Now looking at that who would you sell in January or Summer and who would you ideally bring in to replace them?

For me looking down the list I'm okay with your midfield for this year but how long is it realistically going to be before we haveto replace Giggs and Scholes with personal that half of their ability.

Up front just doesn't look right at all a club of our stature can surely have more options up front that this, regardless of peoples thoughts on Berbatov and Owen a Injury to one or two of our frontmen leaves us utterly and totally shafted.

If anything whilst putting up this thread its so apparent how unlucky we've been with so many defenders out I really can't recall a crisis like it in recent times.

Personally, I'd get shut of Foster, Owen, Tosic as it doesn't look like he will ever be given a chance, and I'd consider moving Gibson on too, can shoot but not a very good footballer. I'd also be a touch ruthless and ask Hargreaves to man-up or £#%&! off so we can claim the insurance and politely decline to offer Paul Scholes and Gary Neville new contracts.

Then I would begin looking for new players.

We won't be dealing in January - that is an absolute certainty.

I'd expect more of the same in the summer, what with the world cup being a convenient excuse for not buying.

yes, pretty much.

Oh we'll probably bring in somone for around the £5m mark or something. But not before having flogged a couple of first teamers - probably nani and vidic. They'll bring in a combined £20-25m at least.

Then we can blame the world cup, real madrid, man city, the boogie or whoever for the market being inflated and the players being 'over valued'.

I never get why people think we are strong in midfield. I think we are pretty weak there.

That's it really, a lot of decent players not many excellent ones. They all look better in three, apart from Fletcher who is fine in a two, which doesn't really suit us if we want to play to Rooney's strength.

Apart from our defence I reckon we need a fair bit of work doing on the squad, well as much as we've needed to do for a long time.
