It's about time the government made some laws. Football clubs aren't like other businesses. They have a a social value and are important to local communities.

It's ironic that our success means we don't attract (or want) sugar daddies that most clubs would hope for with this kind of news. Instead we attract vultures looking to use our name and reach for financial/political gain.

The glazers are leeches but at least they've mostly left us alone and respected a lot of the traditions. Haven't renamed Old Trafford, no shady deals, still investing in youth set up and letting the manager be the big man vs installing a director of football.

Well it's no coincidence that the teams which attract the attention of these super rich arab states and Russian oligarchs are generally mid to low level clubs with no history of sustained success. They know that clubs such as these will welcome them with open arms and provide a good platform on which they can build an image.

It's hard to come in and make a visible impact on Manchester United because it's iconic and already established in the world as a 'brand' if you like. With teams like City and PSG they can come in, throw loads of money at them and pretty much build the club as they want to build it.

One of the best interviews ever on Sky was regarding Abramovich's involvement at Chelsea.

Matthew Syed was absolutely ruthless and cut through all the glitzy bullshit that Sky usually like to throw about when these shady oil merchants come along....

...The look of total confusion on that dribbling #@&%! Cascarino as Syed starts dropping knowledge on actual world affairs.

Classic interview. The Murdoch stooges must have been scrambling around like madmen trying to limit the damage of those truth nukes.

The absolute state of that stooge twot Kirsty Gallagher at 2:40 fumbling over her words trying to make a case for someone literally robbing the natural resources of a country and funnelling the stolen profits into a foreign football club to protect themselves from state reprisal. "But... he has put Chelsea on the map".

all everyone had to do was cancel their sky subscriptions 15 or 20 years ago and this wouldn't be happening, not in england anyway - nowhere near the exposure, no advertising platform, no multi billion pound TV deals, no £100m transfers, no £300k a week players, no multi million pound TV pundits ...

football fans could have carried on going to matches, carried on buying their kids football tops and carried on buying a half-time pint without having to resent it ...
