This is the thing though, isn't it?
Would love to see the stats as to what the historical average points total is for the team at the top at say, after the New Year's Day fixtures, since 3 points for a win was introduced, and how far on either side of that City and United are this season.
Some of United's results have been poor this season nqat, but didn't I read somewhere that our points haul by this Christmas was at least as good as seven of our title winning seasons in the PL era?
Point being, we could have done better for sure, but wouldn't we still be at least 7-8 points behind City if we'd picked up more points against say Stoke, Huddersfield, Southampton and Burnley?
What City have done is unprecedented. Even Arsenal's so-called Invincibles weren't THAT far ahead.
