Default Ferguson: I hoped Guardiola might come to Manchester United but I’m warming to Mourinho

Quote:
“Even if, from my perspective, I hoped Pep might one day come to United, I not only want them to win this one against City, obviously, but my feelings about Mourinho are changing,” he tells me.

“I hope he does well, I certainly wish him well. While there were some things which, in the past, I didn’t like about him, so long as he’s successful in the ‘United way’ he’ll get my backing.

“Already I see that some of the behaviour which was a little eccentric at Madrid and Chelsea seems to have dissipated.

“He has tidied up his act. No question that the last couple of games his United have looked the part.”

Still it's a good read. He knows Sir Alex better than anyone so the comparisons with Mourinho have value to them.

And the comparisons of Zlatan and Cantona are spot on.

No but he convinced Sir Alex that Anderson will be better than Rooney and the rest is history.

From what has been reported on private forums in the past about Fergie and mourinho, that reads like its fergie's real honest opinion, but he couldn't have it under his name because it wouldn't tally with the fairytale public love in over the years.

Probably reflects charltons views too. I.e. Do it the United way and there's no objection that previously existed.
