I don't really hate the kit but it's not one I'd have designed. Associating it with this year's vintage team doesn't help its cause either.

Prefer black shorts for away derbies rather than a home kit.

seems to be a recent trend for clubs to ditch their traditional shorts for another colour for a season or two. city and leicester both went from white to blue a couple of seasons ago. spurs went all white a few years back. then southampton played in all red for two seasons running.

i guess we're just jumping on that.

will the white shorts come back when we play spurs, newcastle, watford, wolves and fulham away, i wonder.

This.

Red, white and black at home.

Though given the breadth and depth of shit gone wrong with the club, this hardly seems a significant issue these days. What price tradition?

As long as you can stick a sponsor's logo on it, who gives a £#%&! about the tradition.

A post of yours I can endorse fully.

Tradition (or history if you prefer) is the essence of what defines a football club. Discard it at your peril.

I'm worried that if you post something three times in a row in this thread that I totally agree with, strange things will happen.

Go on, tell us how shit socialism is. Or something......

You chaps are right. The issue at hand is the most pressing one of the moment.

Have there been no murmurings, no protests about this sartorial sacriliege?

I don’t mind black shorts, if we’re playing away from home and they white shorts clash with another teams shorts (e.g. Everton). Same with white socks.

Our home kit is red shirts, white shorts and black socks - anyone who thinks differently to that is a @#%&!.
