Why all the snide? This was a way of concisely showing how, at the current rate, United will need a uniquely high points total to reach top 4... how Chelsea are on track for the most points ever ... how some teams at the bottom might only need 30 points to stay up.

Obviously the second half of the season won't be identical but now with everyone having played each other once this is the best and fairest projection there is.

Not really. It's all %@#$&!s.

Chelsea started poorly, the manager fixed it and they've won the last 13. That's not going to happen again is it.

If every remaining game is a 0-0 draw Chelsea are champions.

All you've done is double the points totals so of course the positions will be the same as they are now
