He was £#%&!ing magnificent last night, what a £#%&!ing player he is!

Running around tracking back with players 10 years younger than he is.

Just brilliant.

I think Maldini is the only player to have more appearances (1028 off the top of my head), but it's a fantastic achievement. Has to be the Premier League's greatest ever player surely.

He was amazing last night and has been since he's been here (bar a couple of seasons around early naughties but i'm happy to gloss over that...)

A year ago it would have been hard to imagine a performance like last night from Giggs. He was incredible. What a career, how many second comings this guy has had

Shilton has over a 1000 right?! But for one club? No £#%&!ing way, never again.

He was yet again immense last night, proving us all wrong. There was a moment last night where he was sprinting back into our half to catch Ronaldo. The legs on him

Amazing achievement.

He was phenomenal last night. To perform to that standard, in that position, in a match of that calibre at his age almost defies belief. What an amazing player.

As mentioned, Maldini made over 900 appearances for Milan and has 126 caps for Italy.

Zanetti is closing on 1100 professional appearances. That's for two different clubs, though.

Rogerio Ceni has played over 1000 games for Sao Paulo alone, but he's a goalkeeper.

But Giggs' performance last night was absurd. It's the position he plays that makes his record/performance level so incredible.

didn't shilton play 1000 games? i remember there being a 'big' fanfare on his 1000th appearance. he was playing in a televised game for leyton orient, and they had about 4 chavvy cheerleaders, half a carrier bag of ticker tape and about 3 shitty fireworks
