There was some talk that a Premier League team wanted him as their assistant and would allow him to keep on the job he has with Ireland. Not sure why he's in such high demand at the moment tbh apart from the fact that he's on television a lot more these days

I lost all faith in football's common sense when we appointed our former manager...

yeah, 'cos villa will let him combine it with his ireland coaching role. best of both worlds for him, really.
