The Return of JC

Default Premiership Underrated XI

(I'm really scraping the bottom now)

Friedel (Highly rated, yes, but probably not enough. As good as any keeper in there IMO)

Wes Brown
Ryan Nelson
Richard Dunne ()
Chris Samba

Tim Cahill
Xabi Alonso
Michael Carrick
Gabby Agbonlahor (not really underrated, but a better prospec than he gets credit for

Robbie Keane
Louis Saha

Robbie Keane isn't underrated. Underachieved maybe but not underrated.

Perhaps.

He's highly rated, but not enough IMO. Consistently amongst the top Prem scorers every single season. Has a bit of an enigmatic quality, can score all kinds of goals and is a master of the 'dink' finish over the goalkeeper - my favourite finish.
He's skillful, will drift wide and is pretty damn good.

As for Tim Cahill - only Lampard is better in the goals from midfield column in recent years.

Arteta would be close too if he wasn't already starting to get rave reviews.

Arguably the best player outside the top four. Along with Berbatov.

I think Cahill is better than Lampard. I think Arteta is better than both.

Me too.

If I'm being honest, I wouldn't mind him here.

Frank Lampard gets far too much stick.

He's a brilliant player.

He has a tendancy to be a little greedy, but that guy's all about the goals and has a touch of class about most things he does. The stick he got off Ingerlunders was quite embarrassing.

You see, I'd file them in the overrated folder.

Pederson is decidedly average all the time but scores the odd cracking goal so he looks good in a compilation.

Chimbonda gets up and down the flank and is all action, but dodgy going backwards and can't actually cross to save his life.

£#%&!ing dirty, snidey £#%&!er too.

You could name them but it doesn't make it true, so it still makes him brilliant.

We've seen the difference he and Drogba make to Chelsea recently.

Mourinho loved him, Grant loves him. MaClaren can't wait to squeeze him back into the England set up and he'd be chased by a shit load of top clubs in the world were he to become available.

Scores goals at all levels for club and country.

He scores 20 goals a season from centre midfield, that's not by accident, you know.

I don't rate him as highly as you, I think he's David Platt.

As to Agbong, I think he'd be an interesting signing for us.

I think Agbon would fit in quite nicely TBH. Quick, strong, feisty, English determined little bastard. He can play on the shoulder of the last defender but also has the adaptability to move out wide like our strikers do.

Get him in!!

I actually think that Cahill is a bit overrated, if anything. He scores at a very respectable rate for a midfielder, but he has to, because he really doesn't bring much to the table besides goals.

And for me, Lampard has probably gone from being one of the most overrated players in the league to somewhat underrated. I'm not a big fan of his, at all, but you can't deny that he produces consistently for Chelsea.

Exactly. It's almost come full circle.
