Bit of a relief; plenty had off days today. Thought De Gea was quite poor tbh. Good shot by their rb, but you’d normally put your money on DG from there. His positioning for the equaliser was a bit suspect, and his distribution and control of the box was shoddy.

McT’s done well this week considering, but the amount of space in the middle of the park was shocking. Smalling is definitely going to give away a pen sometime soon; we just have to hope it’s when we’re 3-0 up rather than 1-0 down I suppose. Alternately, he could just stop pulling shirts.

We need to be careful not to position ourselves as the big team that gets rattled at home by any old shite turning up and working hard.

Young had a handful of shirt. The second you do that it’s a toss up.

That was Smalling's one. Young was a £#%&!wit but it wasn't a penalty. And the Southampton @#%&! should've been booked for a dive

Young had jersey as well. With Smalling it’s like breathing. I’m not sure I remember a time he didn’t do it.

Nope. That was Smalling, and he was alongside the bloke who was never getting the ball, standard grappling. Same with Young’s.

They were hitting the deck under the lightest of breezes all £#%&!ing day. They can £#%&! off.

Smalling does need to £#%&! off with that though.

Young can just £#%&! off.

How many pens has Smalling given away in his career for shirt pulling?

Newcastle away, 1(one). Maybe, just maybe, he knows what he is doing.

Don’t know about that...

VAR will savage him.

Next season with VAR he'll have to watch it though

Of course, but we know they’re going to do that so you have to be smart.

Btw, Young grabbed shirt too. Watch it again.

I have a bit of sympathy for Young tbh. Works his socks off all the time, team player and he’s not a full back.

You’ll be singing a different tune if it’s last five minutes 1-0 up against City.

If the rules change, the way you plays changes.

I really hope Var does not change the balance of the game and we end up with 6-5's every week. As much as the Yanks might want it more scoring does not necessarily mean more entertainment.

I thought it was William Wallace in a Southampton shirt.

Any chance we can get James Ward-Prowse to teach our players how to take a corner?
