This. Do you want to get a million pounds a month for watching your beautiful wife play tennis in a series of exotic locations, in return for an occasional gentle kickabout?

Yes please.

On paper we've had some real talent come and fail in recent years:

Schweingster
Di Maria
Falcao

How many tens of millions £#%&!ed on transfer fees and wages for those three alone?
There is an accepted measure for wretched talent which is 'an Anderson' which is approx £50m. Do these 3 make up a single 'Anderson'? possibly -maybe more.

Not sure what was going on there. Clearly on the wane (wahey!) long before we moved in for him. Not like he was going to suddenly concentrate on getting himself into shape again.
What?

Read somewhere last week that referred to him as "fans favorite" Imagine loving a player for his achievements at another club and with another country

Anderson had his moments though (outside of McDonalds before any wisecrack comebacks), few and far between as they were. At least he was part of an all conquering squad and, according to Fergie (I recall) he was a key squad member, useful in training etc. Look at his medal haul:

4 premier league titles, 2 league cups and community shields, 1 champions league and a club World Cup.

What did the three listed above muster between them?

Bah. Just gutted it didn't work out and we've had these chancers come and get richer without seemingly giving it there all.

Genuine legend. Jose's biggest mistake.

Hopefully Rooney manages to leave with similar dignity...

Anderson was worth it for the 1st season alone. And Fergie seemed to love him for his impact on the dressing room even when he turned into a useless fat mess.

Only £6m wasn't it? Voted United player of the month just before his injury last season too

Strange his usage this year. Complete isolation would have made more sense. But the odd five minutes here and there? Anyone who saw him and Kroos taking the piss out of France last summer surely doesn't thing he couldn't have been more useful.

Anyway, he's been taking up wages so it's long overdue.

10 years from now he'll be one of those players you scarcely remember played for us. I thought it was a great bit of business at 6M.

Remember watching his first home game for us and thinking he looked overweight, then came on here and everybody else had made the same observation. Then I felt like Bob Gunton at the end of Shawshank. Utterly hoodwinked.
