You can't welcome the huge sponsorship deals, the kit deals and then get all precious when they want to slap their name on the stadium.

And the fact of the matter is we're not going to be in the champions league for a fair bit, especially with this clown at the helm, so the club are only doing what's logical by looking for other revenue sources.

If we were in the top 4 this season i guarantee you there would be no talk of stadium naming rights. This has all come about because of how absolutely £#%&! we're doing on the pitch - so when the ground sells naming rights to Nike, and it's now called "the nike old trafford stadium" then they can thank Fergie and Moyes and carry on booing planes and happy clapping 20 times.

You're comparing one of football's most famous stadiums & the name by which it's been known worldwide for decades against a completely new, nameless build that could only have been financed thanks to promised money from the sponsored name. They're not even close to being the same principle.

Yes you can, because those are extras that aren't interfering with the club's identity.

This is all moyes fault. This is how were gonna make up for not being in the champions league for what could be up to 6 year's.
Still better than selling the place

So we can rename Old Trafford, but we can't sack an incompetent manager because it's not our identity? :shakehead:

Ferie won't be happy. He was banking on the ground being named after him

it's money for old rope. if it pays off the debt, it's a no-brainer.

however, it won't make up for years of underinvestment; it won't make up for this season (or the last few); and, without the constraints on glazer leeching that the debt guarantees, it is more likely that they will just take more money out of the club into their own greedy pockets than that they will invest properly (and with a new manager). in fact, they will probably pocket the entire £500mio.

so no. death to glazer. then we'll talk.

Does anyone honestly think if the Club were to sell ground naming rights, for any sum of Money. That all of it would go to paying off the debt?

I can’t see it happening, without the ‘Brotherhood of Leaches,’ taking a huge percentage.
