Default Sepp Blatter and his 'stop the english dominating' campaign.

Obviously, when Spain and Italy had teams dominating the champions league semi finals - that was all well and good. But now English teams are starting to dominate, well something HAS to be done. So we have "the 6 + 5 Rule". Blatter eventually wants 6 out of every team's starting 11 to be from that country.

The Italian and Spanish teams will find 101 dodgy passports for talented Brazilian and Argentinian players - and yet again we the English will bear the brunt of this stupid rule.

2010 - 4 out of the starting 11 must be English

2011 - 5 out of the starting 11 must be English

2012 - 6 out of the starting 11 must be English

There must also be a certain amount of players in your entire squad eligible to play for the national team.

that's going to cause chaos. All your going to get is the price of the decent english players go through the roof as they will be at a premium.

Also judging by the products of our own youth system over the last 10 years, we may struggle a bit in that department come 2012.

I thought we had determined on 13 previous threads on this subject that it was now illegal to do this?

Quite, it would require a fundamental change in EU employment law which I just can't see happening.

I agree with your sentiment btw.

blather can do what he likes, however when push comes to shove it will take just one professional footballer to challenge the ruling in the courts and the whole thing will blow up in his fat german face.

I admit that he's got his willy out but he strangely hasn't noticed that there's a very strong wind blowing towards him.

Not sure why he's doing it tbh - it's strange - I think he's just politicking.

If the European Union can overturn the entire transfer system when Bosman went to them just so that football didn't break theri emplyment laws then I doubt that a new rule set by FIFA will stand up to it. In the EU we have freedom of employment and no silly womens underwear magazine editor is likely to stop that.

If it did happen and we could only recruit English players within a 90 minute drive of OT then most English teams would be £#%&!ed. Especially as the kids today would rather play on their Nintendo DS' than play footie in the park.

Blatter is right

United's line-up in Moscow had six English players in it as well

The rule should say that there must be 6 nationals* on the pitch at all times (with an exception made for red cards)

To say this is illegal us utter fantasy

*you know what i £#%&!ing mean
