Did fine in exactly the same set up on Tuesday.

He's a winger. He has a responsibility to get on the ball and influence as much as he's reliant on service. When he did get it, he ran down blind alleys and was frequently brushed off the ball.

Bad day at the office, but it happens. He's still young.

Wide players from young, lingard and depay. Herrera in midfield in place of Fellaini. Martial up front with Rooney behind. Mata on subs bench. That's our best attacking team, and if it can't produce good football, sack van gaal.

Despite being proven that it isn't.

our best attack would be rooney, martial and herrera. then we could play a proper midfield behind them. I would say van gaal didn't have much option, given injuries, but, when he does have the option, he still overloads us with forwards who don't get into the game.

And plays Fellaini.

Give him a run of games.

He may not have the quality of Mata but he fits the system and other players much better. Excellent movement, pace and directness. Technically good. There's a reason he gets into good scoring positions - now he just has to show end product.

With Martial tearing up the left and Lingard on the right we have two young lads who are fearless and make their own luck.

Nice cross by Mata but he is a pansy.
