Since Scholes, Keane and Giggs left, we have never really properly fixed the midfield. You wonder if United will ever have a balanced world-class midfield again.

Right now in terms of balance, the team is a complete shambles.

Quite literally around him, forming a human shield. Might stop him being dispossessed every 2 minutes

Really not sure that excuse is there anymore. When Mata was playing with a past-it Rooney, Lingard, Memphis and a new Martial, then maybe there's an excuse, although as a senior player he's supposed to take more responsibility, which he only did occasionally.

Now, with Mkhi, Rashford, Martial, Pogba, Lukaku he should have improved. If anything he's gotten worse since the quality around him improved.

Agree with this, been shown up as a weak link so far this season, unwilling or unable to bring some creativity when we need it most. No way both him and Mikki will both be here next season, can live with either as a squad player but need someone who imposes himself much more to be in our best XI.

He's still being played on the right wing primarily, which is insane.

Either play him as a 10 with pace all around, or not at all.

He's an excellent player, but like so many of the delicate turds taking up attacking positions in our squad, they need it to be built to suit them. Which in turn puts someone else out of position.

The best footballers, and most effective players we have would fit in a classic 4-3-3, however we seem intent on playing some weird 4-2-3-1 that isolates the front 4. That's simply not enough attacking numbers, and not having enough movement when one of those 4 is a dawdler further diminishes the potency of the attack.

He's a cracking squad player, same as Mhki, but you need someone who's really contributing if you only have 4 people doing the business.

Is he though? A really good attacking squad player needs to be adaptable, be able to make a dynamic impact off the bench or fill in as a starter. You said yourself that he needs the team built around him to really excel. When he is not scoring goals there is not a lot else that he offers other than tidy possession.

One of the problems with players like Mata and Fellaini is their one dimensional nature ultimately limits the top level of the team. Also a concern with Lukaku.

Going back to a proper 4-4-2 may help.

Get Pogba and Matic in the middle running the show, two of Mhkitaryan, Mata and Martial down the flanks and two of Lukaku, Zlat and Rashford up front.

Only 17 players have signed up to give 1% of their pay (tax deductible too) to his Common Goal charitable fund.

A lot of them probably couldn't be arsed. Rather than oppose giving the money away.

Huge amount of them are probably barely functioning mentally.

More likely they are Marxists who oppose the ideological nature of charitable giving in place of a wholesale redistribution of wealth under the dictatorship of the proletariat.
