It's all a bit Allardyce at Everton tbh. Finishing 6th was shocking so it's easy to focus on the progress to 2nd, when really it's where we should have been last season. Doing it the hoofball way after breaking world transfer records and signing players on £300k per week.

Needs to overhaul Guardiola next season to justify the approach.

Exactly. There's no point in beating the drum about qualifying for the champions league if we're just going to bomb out of it in some dour fixture any way.

The whole crowd at old trafford for every single champions league fixture this season was the very definition of apathetic. Absolutely £#%&!ing crap. The Sevilla fixture had all the atmosphere and sense of occasion of a pre-season kick about.

Thats probably true, but that crowd at the Sevilla game came to make a noise, they came to support the team 100% but NOTHING came back from the pitch absolutely nothing. Its a 2 way street imo and blaming the fans is too easy to do.

I'm not just talking about the sevilla game. They were all £#%&!ing crap. First champions league knockout tie in god knows how long and nobody seemed arsed.
