I'm exact opposite love bestie and his flawed genius. Nothing to do with talent for sir bobby, man was excellent for club and country, just not keen on the man and he never took my imagination like best for example .

Its a personal opinion, nobody ever agrees with me and there's almost been fisticuffs with members of my family when ever ive dared to mention it.

But it is how I feel. Football hardly got a look in, George Best's favourite thing was George Best always was.

He could of been half decent player if he'd put his mind to it.

Charlton told the Glazers it was important for them to realise just how strongly fans felt about their £790m takeover.

"I tried to explain they couldn't ignore the fans, who are so emotionally involved in the club but who sometimes do go a bit too far," he said.

Absolute world wide legend, yet still gets shit for selling a few tickets on during times when footballers weren't that well paid in a short career

"When he was young, I'd be cleaning the fireplace in the morning and I'd look round and there'd be another scout standing behind me. There were times when we had one in the front room and one in the kitchen. One said he'd double whatever was the highest offer we'd had. He didn't even ask what it was."

"But they allayed a lot of my fears. I asked them questions about the future of the club - and the future of people who were wrapped up in the club.

"They were receptive to everything and said they'd do everything they could to make this a successful football club"

It was already a highly successful debt free football club. derrrrrrr

swallowed their bullshit hook line and sinker .

About as far away from the modern day "me, me, me" footballer as you can get.

A true working class hero and probably the greatest English footballer of all time.

Best was the first of his ilk and had to deal with not just the stardom that was itself in it's infancy in terms of PR but the pressure of carrying an over aged squad.

Charlton had to carry the survivors guilt after seeing his best friends killed.

Two utter geniuses of the game. Lets be thankful Sir Matt had them both here.

I think that just about covers it.
2 very different men, but both indisputable United legends.
Only United have players that ever reach their stature & gravitas.
