In the first place? To get results and avoid bad ones, right? Like today? Like this season?

I resent this notion that ‘giving time’ is the default correct thing to do.

Wenger got time well past his best. Plenty thought Lampard should have had time? Does anyone think he should now? Nigel Adkins was harshly sacked at Southampton… for pochetino…..

It’s lazy to just say ‘they need time’. Not if they’re not good enough. By that logic, no manager would ever lose their job.

There is absolutely nothing to suggest time is the issue here and plenty to suggest that he simply can’t do the job anymore.
You don't carry on making a mistake just because you've been making it for a long time.

The club has no vision of what it wants to do. As you say they've painted themselves into a corner here with this silly notion that filling the club with fergie's acolytes is akin to a plan.

Thumbs down

He needs to walk. I don't see where we go from here if he stays. He'll think that top 4 will be the target now, and that there is enough quality in the squad, and dross in the League, to rack up enough points to get 4th.

However, that isn't good enough for this club. We're 3 years into his reign, and are now going backwards compared to last season. This was the year that we were supposed to be mounting a title charge.

Just go, Ole. You've taken the club as far as you can, but we need a far stronger tactician now to take this squad to the next level.

If he stays for the next few weeks the entire season will be completely NUKED. It almost is after tonight if not for late winners in the CL. But those sides are a different proposition in their own stadiums with fans there.

IMO its gonna get uglier if he stays and that City home game could be the final crescendo of ugliness.
It’ll be interesting to see if Neville is still saying we should ‘see it through’ if the same happens against city.

I can see Atalanta game and Spurs being a bit tighter (provided the players don’t just give up) but city will do something similar to us as Liverpool did today,

Why wouldn’t they? The way we are now, city should be scoring at least three or four, no problem.

No manager should be allowed to oversee maulings to liverpool and city and then live to tell the tale.

Going off his interview, seems there is no intent to walk. Think he's deluded himself into thinking we are actually onto something.

Woodward should have been sorting out a new manager over the last few weeks. That's what a proper chief exec would have been doing.

Stupid @#%&!.

Managers just don’t walk anymore.

They want the pay off and their ego won’t allow them to admit that they simply can’t do it.

Unless something goes on behind the scenes, managers never want to leave. As long as they’re in the job, they can believe theyre working on it.

he's off in a month's time mate. We've got Richard "11 george clooneys" Arnold taking over from him so i'm sure it'll get much better.

Kevin Keegan was the last one with any integrity. Walked away from England when he knew when he wasn't good enough and Newcastle.

If they don't sack him tonight then you've got wonder when.

There's a danger he could hang on, squeak a couple of results and buy himself enough time to see this the season out.

Yep. Best you get now is ‘mutual consent’. Which it never is.

I can only imagine it’s like gambling. It’s all-consuming that you forever think you’re one moment away from getting it back….”I’ve come this far”.

I think they see quitting as a weakness. I never quit!! Dropping something you know isn’t working takes balls. Like Divorce.

As soon as questions emerged about the quality of our coaching, the club launched in and awarded them new contracts. The club is run by #@&%!s at every level. It’s certainly not the only problem but it’s a big one.
