Hardly shocking though

Manchester United are the most hated team in the Premier League.

A survey run by the Mirror asked fans of each club which current top flight sides they hate, and United came out as the most disliked side overall.

Current Premier League champions, Chelsea, came out as the next most reviled side.

Liverpool are the third most hated, while Manchester City and Tottenham complete the top five.

Premier League new boys Bournemouth came out bottom of the list - meaning they were the least hated, followed by Southampton, Swansea, Watford and Norwich.

The view of fans of each Premier League club were given equal weighting in drawing up the results, no matter how many voted, to keep the overall table fair.

The survey also asked which clubs fans loved, with Southampton coming out top.

The Saints were followed by Bournemouth as the second most loved side with Swansea, Arsenal and Everton completing the top five.

That list is roughly how the clubs have done in the PL over the years.

We just hate winners in this country and love the underdog

Just take city for example can't se why they are hight on the list as most neutrals used to like them because they lived our shadow but kept decent support while being relegated a few times.

Pre oil money of course and even with the oil money they must be every ABU persons wet dream

Not a word of a lie, I know someone who, while not following United, used to like them a lot.

He has despised them since 1993

Pre oil City is a different thing though.

At least they had some sort of £#%&!ing soul. These days, they trot out Noel Gallagher to be their £#%&!ing spokesperson and mascot. Embarrassing.

Yep. Fickle modern fans. Another thing gone to shit like so much of the rest of the game over the past 20 years. Not like the old days when fans were desperately to stop a club winning the league who hadn't won it for 25 years.

Not sure as I have supported Utd since the early 70,s and the first 20 years being a Utd fan didn't get that "on the bandwagon" look when speaking to people like the last 20 odd years
