the Basti thing i have feeling its more to do with his pride. he write him off quite early on and then begrudgingly had to reintroduce him in the squad because no-one came in for him. add to that the reaction from fans when he comes on in the last 20 mins, Jose probs doesn't want to be "pressured" into playing someone, especially a fan favourite
