Football Aston villa v Manchester United - 11/02/24 4:30pm KO - Official Match Thread

Big one this and see if we’re capable of making the step up from Newport to a decent PL side.

3-1 villa.

Well Jeff I think Bailey and that Ollie Watkins bloke will have a field day against Varane and Maguire, so I’m going for a Villa win, 3-1

Their high line is perfect for us.

3-1 United. Rashford, Rasmus, Bruno

With 5th likely getting a CL spot, we need to be winning this game really. Defeat and it is probably game over as we aren't consistent enough to claw back that deficit.

2-1 United , no Martinez from the back throws everything out. More holding on the ball, more indecision with passing , slow build up play between the back four increasing pressure on ourselves.

Still should nick it in a game that’s pretty much normal for the season , a bit shit and enough for pundits and others alike to call for ETHs head.

OP has nailed the title with correct time and formatting. Definitely growing into the season

Premature. Once he nails the 24hr clock, he will be there.

Amrabat left back, Shaw centre back....

A hard fought 2-1 united.

Top 4 push.

score could be anything. today's bet would be total goals scored is greater than total number of passes to hojlund. otherwise, anything could happen.

if ever there were a time for the home team to turn their form around....

Hopefully, we will be able to cope without Martinez. If we do, then I think we will win quite comfortably.

They have been found out over the last couple of months. Teams no longer give Douglas Louis any time on the ball.

Konsa will be a big loss for them, and hopefully Torres isn’t fit enough to start.

Their two full backs can definitely be got at, and if Torres doesn’t play then the two centre halves they will play are very average.

We must not give them any early gifts.

0-3 to us.

We ALWAYS used to beat Villa ffs

Don't fancy united at all in this game; Villa will be so up for it and they have some quality players now. Very much hope i'm wrong but concerned tbh. United should be winning this game, with the players we've got, despite our innate current shitness.

If we have any lingering top four hopes then we simply must win.

I can’t see Villa being as bad as they’ve been recently, so it’s going to be a huge test. And we’re yet to get a really big away win. We’ll need a huge performance.

Everyone mentions they've been really bad recently but think theyre unbeaten since playing us apart from chelsea and Newcastle, including spanking sheff Utd
