diouf has done well at blackburn, nailed down a place in their first 11 quite quickly, scored a few, making good progress. don't think he's going to make it but he'll have a decent premier league career, certainly isn't a dong/manucho style signing.

Thought he was dropped for a while recently.

As for Martinez, about as much chance as Barcelona signing Heskey than United signing a promising Spanish international.

Building the team around a couple of South Americans, even worse Brazilians. How the mighty have fallen

Given Anderson's injury record and lack of stamina, plus the fact that no-one seems sure of his role, or at least the best role for him in the side, it seems odd that we would build a team around him.

Anderson'll be 3 stone heavier and an alcoholic by the time he's 28, that's if he makes it. Otherwise he'll be at Fenerbache or something similar.

He shouldn't be, he's 2nd best at the club. Maybe Fabio'll improve as Rafael has and he can backup both fullback positions?

I'd disagree tbh but not enough to argue about it.

I'd rather have Pip than either.

I wonder how patient some fans would be with this though. Personally if true i'm looking foward to it.

O'Shea is a far better right back than Wes or Neville, these days.

Wes has been shite in pretty much every game he has played for 12 months. He seems to have lost any pace that he had, and his positioning isn't good enough to make up for it.

It was the premise of the artice I was questioning rather than Fergie, tbh.

You dont often get teams 'built around' full backs to my knowledge

Oh he is, definitely, I can't wait until Fabio catches him up, and he will. Difficult to build 'around' them, considering they have a touchline to one side and the byline behind them, generally.
