Default Like it or not, we're not that far behind Liverpool

They've only got one world class player too.

If it weren't for the fact that we have the greatest football manager of all time we'd be in their shoes this season.

Unless something dramatic happens financially allowing us to invest in the squad we could well be next season.

I agree in part with the sentiment but that last sentence didn't make a great deal of sense. We could well be what?

Can we also roll all the doom threads into one? I'm not saying they're not valid but £#%&! me, coming on here is like going round to visit my auntie mable. She's been dead for 4 years.

Rio, Vidic, Evra, Rooney, Van Der Sar

Bit more than 1 world class player.

Perhaps when they are at the top of their game Rio and Vidic could be classed as world class but when was the last time that was the case?

Evra is our most consistant performer and I love him. I will give you him.

I dont think VDS is a world class keeper. He is very good but not world class for me anymore. Suspect from set pieces and shots from distance.

I can't believe that nobody has yet mentioned the Drenthe, Huddlestone and Jagielka beating Owen Hargreaves in this thread.

Everybody £#%&!ing says this despite having no evidence for it. I'm convinced it's a holdover from Nakamura beating him twice in short order several years ago. Name me the goals he's conceded "from distance" or from set plays in the last two seasons, and I will match you with an equal or greater number allowed by Casillas, Cech, Buffon, any world class keeper you care to name.
