Im sure I posted his number of assists as well .
If you are happy with that return from a supposedly attacking FB then it’s clear who the lunatic is

Yes, and number of assists is pretty valid.

Goals is not. Hence me disagreeing with you. Do you see how this works yet?

Evra's crossing wasn't the best either. His strength was that he would always get ahead of the play. Forced the issue. Shaw does that too.

We're also talking about a defender. To only point out their goals and assists, like they're an attacking player is odd.

Do you care about how many clean sheets Harry Kane has?...

Bo , but if Harry Kane signs for Utd as a defensive striker then I would .

It’s not been sink or swim though. Sink or swim suggests you put the player into big games or for prolonged periods and see if they can hack it. The frustrating thing about Shaw and, until recently, Martial is that they have been more dangled into the water watched by five life guards and taken out at the first sign of getting quite wet.

Or, in the case of Tuanzebe and other youngsters, kitted out in a life jacket and watching from the shore.

I’ve never understood the lack of faith in Shaw. Especially given our alternatives. Put him in the side for the rest of the season and by the summer we will have a far better idea of what we are working with. That’s proper sink or swim, not occasionally playing against shite at OT.

There's been plenty of talk about how he was behaving off the field in fairness. But he appears to have settled down at last and is getting a chance.

He could be great and we'd still need another LB and RB in summer. He's been ok but needs to make progress and let's hope he becomes undroppable.

Perhaps 'sink or swim' is too broad a term then.

The approach is that you will get chances, but if you don't take them, you're gone. And for a while.

Unless you're Lukaku.

Shaw still isn't trusted as first choice, but he's in a much better position than he Was a few months ago.
