ETH’s handling of the Ronaldo situation was fantastic. There’s maybe one or two other managers in the world that would have dealt with him like that; the vast majority would have capitulated to his demands and in doing so undermined their authority. He doesn’t get enough credit for that imo.

Then there’s Harry Maguire - he’s still technically captain but let’s be honest it’s purely ceremonial at this point. Still occasionally laugh at the fact that he prefers Shaw playing in that position when our other centrebacks aren’t available.

We’ve won a cup and might win another, we’re in the CL next season (I pray to God we never have to go through the Europa ever again), made some fantastic signings and developed players that looked totally down and out last season. Some great football has been played too, albeit inconsistently.

Two or three top signings in the summer, Garnacho to continue improving, and hopefully our away form gets sorted. I don’t see why we can’t be title contenders.
