Agreed; it was so shit it would have just died the death of a million chants that never caught on. Now they’ve made it a thing.

It’s like your mates discovering what you’re sensitive about..if you ask them to stop, you’re £#%&!ed.

Jose:

I don't understand the songs of the fans. The only song I do understand is the song when the other fans tell Mourinho to go some place. Our fans were amazing

"go some place"

No he isn't, he's doing his usual schtick of throwing out strawmen. castigating 'intellectuals' and presenting working class white men (of which I am one) as some sort of oppressed underclass being demonised for enjoying unsophisticated humour

As for Sapien and Utd99's idea that a chant that's shit will die a death at OT, I present "Take me home United Road" and "Something tells me I'm into something good" as irrefutable evidence to the contrary.

They're playfully undercutting racial stereotypes.

You may need to scroll down a bit

I use it and have never been picked up by family for it...
It's got to be one of the most inoffensive comments...

Yeah well that's just like their opinion man..

To be honest I always assumed it was a fairly mild dig at the Irish.

the term paddy is taken as an intended insult. wouldn't take offense to it because I'm not a snowflake, but my first impression is that it's intended to be derogatory.

It's definitely not the worst thing that could be said but it grates a little is all. If was Scottish I'd probably get annoyed with anyone calling me jock. Unlikely to call them out on it but wouldnt warm to them for it.
