Anyone hear Alan Green's commentary on 5 Live for the barcodes game?
I'm informed he spent the entire first half calling Ronnie a cheat and suggesting Fergie should be put on a leash. Nice to see the license fee I'm being forced to pay is being spent on bile filled propaganda against my club.

Where he commentating on a commercial station, then by not tuning tinto that station, listerner figures would drop, and this would effect advertising revenue & possibly force a change in his attitude. With the BBC however, as they already have your licence fee and will do so every year, unless you want to risk a criminal prosecution, Green will continue to do what he does. And remember, commerical TV & radio are most welcome to show bias, they have to satisfy the part of the audience their advertisers target. But the BBC is supposed to maintain impariality - it is one of the core parts of its existence. I cannot choose to boycott the BBC, they get my money regardless. |

Green supports Liverpool.
Liverpool hate us. They know we hate them. They're always trying to compete with us. They know they're miles away from us. They think we're shit, but we're Champions. Ronaldo scores loads of goals. We're hot favourite to retain our crown. He is bound to be bias, what I don't get is, why is he allowed to commentate on ours, or any games 'cos he clearly isn't neutral. |

Thank you for your e-mail regarding '5 live Sport', broadcast on 12
January. I understand you have concerns about the credibility and impartiality of Alan Green during his commentary on the Manchester United/Newcastle United game. BBC football commentators are experts on their sport and are paid to give their fair and unbiased opinions. Alan Green is one member of our extensive football team. Football, being football means that the team don't necessarily agree on every issue regarding the game. Part of the joy of football is its subjective nature, illustrated three times a week on Five Lives 606. Alan's views are exactly that. His views. Alan is well known as an opinionated and acerbic football presenter and commentator, who has won a number of industry awards. However those opinions are regularly and robustly challenged by football fans every week on 606. We always aim to report in an impartial way but our experts are expected to give their views, to avoid bland broadcasting and to better inform the audience. In the past Alan has praised Manchester United greatly, not least last season when he stated that that they were the best team in England and thoroughly deserved to win the Premier League title. I would like to assure you that we have registered your comments on our audience log. This is the internal report of audience feedback which we compile daily for all programme makers and commissioning executives within the BBC, and also their senior management. It ensures that your points, and all other comments we receive, are circulated and considered across the BBC. Once again, thank you for taking the time to contact us. PFFFFT On this response I doubt if anybody can believe anything you hear see on the BBC any more. Its full of second rate wallies. |
