Default Wouldn't normally contribute to a paranoic witch-hunt..

however, with this particular case it's justified..

It's actually a disgrace.. there is simply no doubt at all that he isn't approaching the match as a neutral... which let's face it he's supposed to be..

Tired of his "I tell it as I see it attitude".. tired of his blinkered approach to football and United in particualar.. To be fair, Ronaldo's diving £#%&!s me off, but from what I can gather he wasn't. So why did it become the theme of his commentary ? Why does he fail to tell it as he sees it when Gerrard does the same, or Shearer a few years ago.

In addition to his hate ridden comments I'm getting sick of his in-jokes, an incredulous comment here and there, then dead air then a laugh.. sorry but what the £#%&! is so funny that you've stopped commentating.

At the end of the day the BBC need to cash in on the privileged position they assume they still hold but Green flies in the face of that.

His ego's gone to his head, he assumes listeners tune in to listen to him as if he's the Radio equivalent of Letterman, not the game itself.

In reality it's rank un-professionalism on his and the BBC's part.

I turned off when he manipulated himself into a self-righteous frenzy with the following ‘logic’. “There go the Manchester United fans booing Michael Owen just because he once played for Liverpool. They’d even boo him if he came back in a wheelchair. Disgraceful.”

His role is supposed to be to describe and commentate on the game for people who can't watch it. I don't understand why he is given licence to go on these conceited, disparaging and often quite personal rants about anyone he likes - be it players, managers or officials - as if that's his job. That's not what he's there for; no other commentators do it and the smug @#%&! ruins every match he covers with his constant self-opinionated bile.

Default Green's a @#%&!

A friend of mine is a Catholic of Southern Irish descent.
He was at a do a while ago and Green, knowing him to be Catholic and being a proud UlsterMan, interrupted a conversation my friend was having with another UlsterMan just to ask him where his family was from.

Absolute @#%&! trying to make him feel uncomfortable around a few Protestants.
My friend just replied...my family's from Donegal and, yes, Im a Catholic.

He is a total piece. I saw him outside OT a few years ago when we played Villa at home I think. I was with a few mates and we started shouting after him 'Eamonn Eamonn can we have your autograph?' when he was approaching one of the press entrances near the South Stand. He £#%&!ing hates when people get him and Eamonn Holmes mixed up. He is a bitter and twisted scouse @#%&!.

I understand you have concerns about the credibility and impartiality
of Alan Green during his commentary on the Manchester United/Newcastle
United game.

BBC football commentators are experts on their sport and are paid to
give their fair and unbiased opinions.
Alan Green is one member of our
extensive football team. Football, being football means that the team
don't necessarily agree on every issue regarding the game. Part of the joy
of football is its subjective nature, illustrated three times a week
on Five Lives 606. Alan's views are exactly that. His views.

Alan is well known as an opinionated and acerbic football presenter and
commentator
, who has won a number of industry awards. However those
opinions are regularly and robustly challenged by football fans every
week on 606. We always aim to report in an impartial way but our experts
are expected to give their views, to avoid bland broadcasting and to
better inform the audience.

In the past Alan has praised Manchester United greatly, not least last
season when he stated that that they were the best team in England and
thoroughly deserved to win the Premier League title.

I would like to assure you that we have registered your comments on our
audience log. This is the internal report of audience feedback which
we compile daily for all programme makers and commissioning executives
within the BBC, and also their senior management. It ensures that your
points, and all other comments we receive, are circulated and considered
across the BBC.

Once again, thank you for taking the time to contact us.

PFFFFT
On this response I doubt if anybody can believe anything you hear see on the BBC any more. Its full of second rate wallies.
the imbecile with a media studies degree who wrote this apparently does not understand the contradiction here.

I sit in the South Stand, just at the side of the press box, I might have a chuckle and call him Eamonn every time I walk past the pressbox
