It was fairly fluid to some extent, and Mbappé certainly did drift out wide from time to time, as did Falcao. You’d struggle to find many games where he did so enough to warrant being described as playing out wide though |

They're playing Real Madrid. How do they get to a situation where it's beat Real (without Neymar) or the PSG manager walks? Could understand if it was like City last year getting knocked out by Monaco. But they're getting done by Barca and Real. Hands up imo |

PSG's problem is at the first sign of trouble their heads fall. Their culture is making one player the symbol of the club (Neymar now, Zlatan before) - everybody else bows down to them. Including the manager.
That's ok to a point given their domestic competition. They will put four past the likes of Dijon and Poirot at 60%. But in the UCL, you require your squad to have the synergy and courage to rise to the occasion. Real Madrid haven't won three of the last four simply because of Ronaldo. Barcelona at their best were not just Messi FC. PSG looked out of their depth against Pellegrini's City when he was dead man walking. People will cite Bayern Munich and Juventus as examples of teams who walk their league and go far in the UCL. Difference is it's a privilege to represent those clubs. Historic clubs who have had greats of the game wear the shirt and who fight for the highest honours. The present day players are compared to the past. Being a flop at a club of that prestige is still the pinnacle for a lot of players. PSG may not win a UCL yet this current era is their best. You can assemble as many shiny names as you like, we know they are mercenaries but you can't switch on and off intensity. How do you get intensity if the players don't care and don't have to care? |

Decent article about PSG here:
http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/f...-a8243491.html "A hastily-assembled X-Factor boyband" is pretty much the perfect description for them. |
