Young £#%&!s me off so much. Can skin a player but prefers to wait for contact then roll over without waiting to see if the kick's given or not. Breaks down the attack even when it is, and when it isn't we're wide open. The £#%&!ing @#%&!.

Having said that Eden Hazard played like that all the time in the season Mourinho lost his shit.

He'd be better off at right back. Ateast he can put the odd decent ball in on his right foot.

Agree in theory but he plays right back on the rare occasions Shaw gets a run these days. No marked improvement.

When the game ended yesterday there were 6 players on the pitch that Mourinho had signed.

2 of them were playing for Chelsea.

I really don’t recall us playing much particularly good stuff, or fashioning many good chances beyond slinging balls into the box. We weren’t even really going for it in the last few minutes - why the £#%&! was DDG told not to go up for that late set-piece?
No we weren’t good at all second half. Once Chelsea were in front they were always going to sit deep and hit us on the break. They should’ve scored at least one more too, that Alonso chance.

Description of that second half as ‘exciting’ and the attempts to suggest that is what the Mou-outers are calling for is disingenuous at best. That was not a performance of attacking intent at any point. It was 2 sides who both wanted sit off and play on the break, but one team had to reluctantly dominate possession and territory, otherwise the ball wouldve just sat in the centre circle. Neither team had any intention of breaking shape or taking any risks when attacking, hence it was sideways passing %@#$&!s. Second half was much the same, slightly more intent as we were behind, but not much more.

The body language in our players was terrible from the off. I can well believe Mourinho convinced them they couldn’t win without Lukaku with his tactics

1. Ibrahimovic - left
2. Mkhitaryan - left
3. Pogba
4. Lukaku
5. Bailly - unused sub
6. Lindelof - not in the squad
7. Sanchez
8. Matic

Nearly £300m was spent on that lot. How many successes? Mourinho has bought two CBs for big money yet he plays Ferguson buys over his own. Sanchez is more and more looking like a vanity signing to one-up his rivals because his arrival has displaced the rhythm of the team. And two years in he's yet to string a good run of games out of the club's record signing. Would you trust him with more money?

Zlatan was a success, despite the injury.

Matic has been a good signing.

Bailly is a good player - unfortunately injured all the time

Lukaku has scored goals, can improve a lot but still scored 27 goals

Pogba is a good player but lacks the mental maturity to utilise his talents

Lindelof has been disappointing

Mkhitaryan looked good in patches but ultimately wasn't up to it

Sanchez so far has been pretty awful, but i can't think of many january signings that have been an instant success.

I wouldn’t say £30m is big money for a centre back tbh? That basically buys you potential these days doesn’t it? which is what Bailey and Lindelof were/are.

mou says we played well, were unlucky and the better team lost. if we'd won the way chelsea won, he would have laughed at any other manager for saying that and noted we controlled the game by giving them the ball. chelsea's gameplan worked; ours didn't. he's a @#%&! and just once it would nice to hear him admit it was his £#%&!ing fault and that we play shit football and we are £#%&!ing toothless without a big @#%&! to lump the ball to (like every £#%&!ing mourinho team ever).

and the idea we need a new back four after that game is ridiculous. jones is a £#%&!ing accident waiting to happen and has been playing like that, with last ditch desperate lunges, for weeks. the problem was that we did £#%&! all with the possession we had.

You look at the three major signings in terms of profile - Lukaku, Pogba and Sanchez - and it's a huge concern that he doesn't seem to be able to get the level of performance out of players that he once did. We've got by this season in terms of results, but there's nothing to indicate these players are growing under him.

Which would be easier to take if his immediate-term based approach, which is yielding such low excitement, wasn't at the cost of ruining the young talent we had acquired. Seeing that talent stripped of confidence so we can pay Pogba and Sanchez £600k per week to underwhelm is sad, but ultimately quite predictable. Still, can always just blame Phil Jones for everything.

I'm not sure what Pogba has really got to do with any of our young players. And we are a football team, not a creche.

But seriously, point was about building the team around big money signings who are flattering to deceive, rather than around the young talent we have/had. The immediate term approach not working makes the tearing up of the long term harder to accept.

Which young players should we be building a team around ?

We don't have much of that really. Not any good enough build a team around.

So we don’t have any good young players anymore. I see.

Previously the line was that they just weren’t ready yet, but now they’re just not good enough full stop it would appear.

Indeed. Nobody was actually arsed about Shaw, Mensah, Rashford, Martial and Lingard a couple of years ago.

The refusal to look at Mourinho on this issue for a few on here is very strange. Pretty much every red I know accepts his approach to Rashford in particular has been odd and clearly damaging.

I believe he said they weren't good enough to build a team around, not that they were all useless. He would be correct.
