Strange to see a minority shareholder out there kissing babies. Almost as if he’s going to have more control than 25% suggests 👀

Glad I wasn’t the only one who noticed.

Gets us, understands the priorities AND fills his jeans. Can’t see how anybody can be left in any doubt about this guy now. He’s got the lot.

I’m always keen to avoid going over the top about these things but I’ve got a feeling Jim might be best thing to ever happen to United.

Very encouraging paywalled article by Matt Slater, the consensus among financial experts who have read the filing document is that SJR has the strongest in terms of a takeover vs new investors or Glazers. His power of veto and first refusal on future shares make it extremely unlikely that Glazers could or would sell their shares elsewhere, there was also an interesting comment that Sir Jim could opt to use investment in the club as a way to dilute Glazer equity.

Not sure it could have taken them that long to deduce that last sentence He's already getting extra shares bumping him up to circa.29% after an investment. It's an avenue he has already explored.

I didn’t phrase it well and I don’t fully understand it but beyond the £300m he’s putting in this year which will give him an extra 4% he could effectively dilute their share by choosing to invest in the stadium etc. Nothing is set in stone but the odds appear stacked in his favour in terms of a full buy-out due to the terms they’ve managed to agree which leave him in full control of the football operation with no way back for the Glazers or anyone else.

Investing in the stadium would probably be the best way to dilute their shares. It doesn't effect FFP.

As long as he can dilute to 51%, that's the main thing.

Seems like everyone's got their eyes glued to us, dissecting every move while financial shenanigans at City or the wheezing lot across at Liverpool get a pass!
