Don't underestimate

It would be hard enough to get elected as either. A candidate who's both will almost certainly galavanise enough opposition to keep him out of the highest office. |

the political landscape
of the United States is that the elections are decided by the middle of the road people who do not affiliate themselves with any particular party. There are 30% on either extreme who will vote for the party they are registered with, regardless of what happens.
The middle of the road people could very well vote for Obama. There are plenty of middle of the road people who despise Hillary. You can't despise Obama. He hasn't even done enough in his political career to warrant that kind of hatred. That is what will hurt him in the end. Not his views or race. He is a nobody who is being run around as a somebody. Further, the US hasn't elected a senator in ages. Senators very often have no public administration/management experience. They sit around and vote. That's why governors are elected. They are the only ones with actual experience that can mimic in any way what they will face in the oval office. Senators don't manage. They give opinions. That is why a strong Democratic governor, whoever that may be, if they come up, will be the only real candidate to challenge Hillary. That is also why the Republican governor Mitt Romney, even though he has the handicap of being a mormon, will probably be the leading candidate for that party. |
