What a ball from Rojo.

Can only hope the injury is minor.

Nope.

Stopped short of saying it was a red but certainly painted a picture.

Erm, yes.

He said it was a yellow yard.

"Andre mariner has got that right. It's reckless from Young and it warranted a yellow card"

Are you arguing with literally everyone and everything these days?

It was Clive Allen. He once scored 49 goals in a season you know.

Deserved a yellow does not imply it didn't deserve a red. Believed he described it as well deserved, with no caveats.

I wouldn't try this shit in court, me laddo.

Saying something deserves one thing and not the other thing, does indeed mean that it deserves that thing and not the other thing.

Me: "he said it deserved a yellow card"

Commentator: " it warranted a yellow card "

Goodnight, weirdo.

Liar, or thick?

'he said it deserved only a yellow'

Or both?

"Andre mariner got it right"

Remind me what Andre Mariner awarded?

You're drunk, Cream. Go home.

Now that is open to interpretation.

He got it right, it was no 50-50. Young was showing his studs.
The wider context of his description of events could arguably be characterised as stopping just short of saying he deserved a red.

Certainly nothing indicated, as you would have it, that said commentator stated "it only deserved a yellow".

Your words.

By 'getting it right', we can assume 'only a yellow'.
A red card is a different decision with a different outcome. They, therefore, can't both be 'right' (assuming 'right in an opinion' in this case)

If you could be booked AND sent off via the same incident, there would be room for ambiguity and interpretation. But you can't.

Let's say, you could be slapped for posting drivel on the forum, but you could also be kicked, spat on or called a sex offender. If these different forms of abuse had no particular perceived level of punishment, you could say 'cream deserved to be kicked' you could also suggest that I also think that Cream is a sex offender, because there's nothing to suggest you couldn't be both, in my mind.

However, if I we were to assign a level of punishment associated with each word and I were only allowed to pick one as an insult based on the severity of how bad your post is, then it create very clear parameters. Somebody could agree or disagree with that accordingly.

Any correct decision would render the other options wrong.

Red is a higher offence than yellow. To suggest a higher offence was needed the commentator would need to say I deserved 'at least a yellow'.

He didn't. He said that is was a yellow card (offered no qualifier, so no further interpretation is necessary) and, more importantly, agreed with the referees decision of yellow.

Morning!

No. Just observing how argumentative he is being based on such a trivial point. Is that OK?

I've been up since 7am. Had breakfast, gone for a run.

So I've had way more time to think about it than that.

I shan't read his rambling effort. I think anybody with half a brain will have already made their mind up, the lad's talking shite.

You can't fight the laws of syntax, grammar and football, no matter how many words you use. Did he even sleep? Debatable.

Exactly. It's just a shame they aren't relevant in this context.

Didn't read? Wow. Such a quick concession. Probably shouldn't be surprised with my airtight logic.

Apology accepted

Same. Enjoyed them going straight in there with old school draws. The less from the likes of Trevor Sinclair, the better imo.
