Team were knackered towards the end of that season. Limped over the line in the league and then struggled in the cup final as well.

The report on Rooney...

...while Wayne Rooney's touch deserted him. The England striker was guilty of giving the ball away on numerous occasions...

I thought it started around 2012/13 but maybe he was always like that.

120 minutes of purgatory - both us and Chelski were totally cream crackered. If that Giggs "goal" had counted, though........

Meh, que sera sera and all that.

I was so overjoyed by that title win the cup would never have been much more than a nice bonus.

When the ref blew the final whistle at the Arsenal - Chelsea game which confirmed us as champions I actually felt physically exhausted, it had been that much of a roller coaster ride. God only knows how knackered the lads were at the end of that season.

Yeah, that one is up with 1998/99 as THE most intense title struggle I can remember. No coincidence given who the two managers were.....

Chelsea just felt invincible before that. Even though we lead the whole way from October or something you always felt it was only a matter of time before the relentless pressure caused us to fold but it never happened.

That team had balls of absolute steel

Was a great player for us. Came knowing he'd never fully win over the support but worked his %@#$&!s off trying. Good luck Smudge
