Default Now is when we motor up the table, look at the next nine league games

Hull (h)
Leicester (a)
Watford (h)
Bournemouth (h)
Middlesborough (a)
Southampton (a)
West Brom (h)
Everton (h)
Sunderland (a)

We're not losing games, scoring late goals, 4 points off 3rd place and our rivals are finally feeling and showing pressure thanks to our earlier run.

Mate, if we don't find some sort of consistency in front of goal, the same pattern will repeat; draws and the occasional narrow victory.

You'd hope we'd put a run together again...

Just have my doubts tbh.

and how often have looked back on what seemed like a run of relatively easy games and wondered why we didn't take advantage?

at least 6 of those games are against teams we're not really better than anyway.

Liverpool, City and Spurs all dropped points this weekend..

This is where united should be "motoring" up the £#%&!ing table. How often can we say 3 out of the top 5 have all dropped points? Weekends like this one are rare as rocking horse shit this season.

United's problem is that they've scored about 1 more goal than West Brom and Bournemouth.

Make all the 'braveheart' chest-pumping threads you want. Unless they start putting dross like Stoke away then they're going £#%&!ing nowhere.

I'm not being funny, but you've been saying that for a while haven't you. We've got a lot of work to do. We were poor against Liverpool, today we were sloppy and wasteful. Still far too reliant on Zlatan. If he doesnt score...

Top four very much in the balance.

You don't need 3 out of 5 to drop points each weekend. Picking them Off one by one is more likely!

Like when we beat Spurs, Palace, WBA, Sunderland, Boro and West Ham?

Also which 6 of these upcoming teams are on our level?

We need to start taking chances and turning dominance into goals, regardless of who we play.

Yes I have, and we've slowly but surely gotten back into contention

Hilarious how angry you "realists" get at any sort of optimism and hopefulness.

We've won 6 of our last 8 league games, unbeaten in 17. We're still a touch behind due to our earlier awful run of 2 wins in 11 league games. That's all there is to it. Today is a disappointing result but not a huge blow.

Drawing with Hull or Leicester would be a huge blow but i'm confident we will beat both and that could/should be enough to see us finally return to the top 4. Then we can attack the rest of the fixtures with even more optimism and hope.

Yep, obviously we just ain't scoring enough goals. not enough players are getting into positions to score goals and even when they do they're missing chances

I know he was average in the first half last week but Carrick HAS to start every game. He really is our only midfielder with any composure and can allow Pogba and Herrera the freedom to get forward and pitch in with goals

We're an injury to Ibra away from the season being over.

I think the reality lies within the 'realists' and the 'on crew'.

We've improved massively in the last two to three months. Lots of aspects are coming together. It's reflecting in results and it's reflecting in the spirit of the side. Win 6 games in a row and you will make up ground.

The concern is that we haven't made up that much ground.

We were eight off before the spurs game. We're four off now. It's taken six wins just to half the gap. It's going to take something similar to get in there and something similar to stay there. It's a big ask.

The last few weeks have reflected both our progress and the challenge we're facing.

Letting in cheap goals is hurting us. Hopefully those two jokers at cb aren't starting next season.

Goalposts being relentlessly moved.

We were going to be above liverpool by christmas
Then someone, anyone was in for a hammering because all these gilt-edged chances United were missing were going to start magically going in...
Then we were going to hammer liverpool at old trafford
Then we were going to hammer stoke today
Now we're going to rocket up the table with a 9 match winning run or whatever...

3 more goals than west brom.

You can't excuse it every single week. This team doesn't score enough goals.
