I think any goal where one player is able to carry the ball 70 yards+ without being stopped has to benefit from some slack defending.

The lads playing have admitted as much but Fenwick could have gone through fatty from the front and only got a yellow.

And Butcher on the wrong side for some reason.

And the less said about the midfield.

Ruined my summer that game.

… and altitude

Blessed are the ignorant.

Another FIFA masterclass. Host a WC in the heat of a Mexican summer with altitude thrown in for good measure. But it was “pathetic”

Van Basten's volley in the Euro 88 Final with the score at 1-0 to the Dutch team early in the second half is the best goal I've seen in terms of pure technique. If he didn't have to retire early he probably would be universally seen as the best striker of all time.

I love this one too because if watching one goal could sum up a player then this goal sums up Zidane perfectly. Incredible technique and won the Champions League for his team. At the time there was a lot of disappointment obviously because we should have been in that final. I think it was Forlan in the dying moments vs Leverkusen in the semi final who had a shot cleared off the line that would have put us through.

meh. van persie's volley from rooney's pass or pretty much any volley by scholes would match those.
