Sir Alex - would he have won another title?
When SAF left, the squad he left needed an overhaul. Now, I'm not asking if he'd have done better than Moyes that season but with everything that needed rebuilding, would he have won another league title before he got sacked?
Other questions: Did he know how bad the situation (financially) was going to get so he knew he was going to struggle to renew his squad? Did he realise that we just couldn't compete long term against City under the Glazers? Would the Glazers have dicked him like they did Moyes in the transfer window or would he have got what he wanted? Things wouldn't have been as bad if he stayed on, NQAT but to what degree? Lastly, a bit more awkward: Is SAF culpable with the Glazers, knew what was coming and kept his mouth shut because all he's interested in is chasing the Yankee dollar? |

Yes.
Had he stayed for a few more seasons (basically through the Moyes + LVG tenure) then with some mild surgery maybe not the next season, but 15/16 was definitely up for grabs. 14/15 maybe. By the time Guardiola + Klopp swung around a whole new team would have been needed and he'd probably have been at the end of the cycle anyway. Hodgson's still managing at 76; he obviously thought the time was right to go but not unfathomable he could have been winning titles in his 70s. |

He was a draw in and of himself - players wanted to play for him. Furthermore the standards he upheld were never really dropped. Sure the quality of player may have been a bit less than a few years prior but every one of them had to give their all on the pitch. Then there’s the intimidation factor - teams were beaten before they even made it on the pitch.
Yeah, I’m thinking he would have. |

Of course he would
Could have benefited from being 10 years younger but no way he doesn't build a better team than what Moyes, LVG and Mou managed. Having the same manager would have spared us the cycle of rebuilds and the sheer number of shit @#%&!s those managers signed. I also get the feeling he wouldn't have tolerated some of the fannies we've had over the past decade. |

The fact he won’t say a bad word about them even now makes me think they’ve got stuff on him, or he’s concerned about looking like a hypocrite for not doing it sooner. |

It's his stance, or lack of, on the Glazers which sours the while thing for me. Who knows, maybe he will come out when it finally reaches tipping point with the club but its already gone too far. I'd kill to know how balls deep he is. It's gutting tbh.
But yeah, even though that squad needed a midfield, it's staggering how badly Moyes £#%&!ed everything. Pretty sure if Ferie was there, it's would've been Kroos and not Fellaini, that's for £#%&!ing sure. |

One of the biggest disgraces in football history. I actually think he chucked his toys out of the pram because he couldn't sign Bale & saw United on a downward trajectory under the owners we had. He would've killed to sign peak Cavani who went to PSG the same summer as well. We needed more firepower after RVP fired us to the title the year before. |
