Question Realistically, what do we have to do to be as good as Real Madrid?

2-1 flattered us. It's frightening how far behind we are, especially considering how much we've spent.

Better players and a better style of football

The biggest difference is the quality of the defenders
Aside from Valencia tonight our defenders are awful on the ball while their defenders never panic even when pressed and are excellent on the ball

Being bankrolled limitlessly by our government would undoubtedly help.

if we faced real in the final of the cl this season, i'd fancy us.

inter or porto weren't the best sides in the world when jose won the cl with them.

United aren't exactly struggling for transfer funds tbf.

A manager who prioritises skill over power would be a good start IMO.

Yeah I really don't think you have to worry about that scenario presenting itself.

Need to improve wide areas obviously. Need two wingers and fullbacks and another midfielder to replace Herrera

we should write them off because we didn't dominate and play tika taka

Not at all, at the same time I don't fancy us under the tutelage of a man who wants to be the underdog, backs to the wall all the time. An expensive Wimbledon, the kings of up and at 'em, underdog football

We played better football in the opening 45 minutes of the '08 final than we have in all Mourinho's reign btw.

We stopped playing exciting football when Fergies 442 died just after 99.

So we're allowed to be underdogs to barca when they are the best team in the world and fergie is manager but not when real are the best team in the world and mourinho is manager.

We consistently set up as underdogs against the best sides when fergie was in charge.
