agreed he needs to play with two wingers, just not at Manchester United

dunno what Lids has to do with it our game was four hours before all that kicked off with the Scum

maybe we can send him there on loan next season

Against Roma, he had Ronaldo wide right, rooney wide left. Against Boro and Everton we didn't play with wingers so he struggled.

At least Smith actually bothers to turn up, not like that fairweather tart Saha.

I like Alan Smith. He's a good option to have.
He isn't fully fit yet but he might be crucial in the run-in ..particuarly at City on Saturday.
I think that game might suit him.

Must - have player for Saturday - will fight and tire the 2 centre halfs out, as he did on Saturday, he leaves us the late options of using our speed.

I sad pretty much the same thing yesterday - Smith gives 110%, but for me is simply not good enough

there was an incident yesterday where we were steaming forward, and he dropped off for a ball into his feet, slowing the play down a la van nistelroy

Smith is a WBA/Sheff Wed player at best

Default is he a class act better than saha?

or a waste of space leeds scum we should get rid of?

i lose track of which day of the week it is at times.

he's neither of course. he's a decent striker with a fantastic attitude and he's had a couple of good games recently. he's just not good enough for united, though, and not an option off the bench - he needs to play regularly. plenty of teams will want him and he'll do a good job for them, but he's not good enough for us.

hopefully we can recoup a bit of the cash we should never have spent on him.

Exactly.
He isn't a goal threat as such, but he never gives the opposition a minutes peace & that will be handy on Saturday.
To be honest, Ole look's a very tired footballer of late so we have no option other than to play Smithy.
Let's face it, Saha's likely to be mincing around on the treatment table between now & the end of the season

He's one of the players that have seen us through to the end of this season and should be rewarded as such. £#%&! as much as i hate to say it Richardson was a welcome sub yesterday and helped change the game. Smith had done his part and both Yobo and Stubbs tired towards the end. Little details have done us proud and i feel smith should stay, he's only 2/3 months into a proper comeback ffs.

the one thing you could never fault was his attitude even when he is not playing well, yesterday his attitude pissed me off, he did nothing but waste chances, slow the game down and look like he was playing for Lids - tghe 2007 version of Lids of course

he's just not good enough for us and we need two new strikers in the summer

look lads i`m not knocking his attitude, just his all round ability, which is no fault of his

bottom line is that he will not get a game in midfield, so is he a good enough striker ?

answer is no, and if berbatov/ tevez/ defoe are available next season, they should be considered
