Heard rumours that Sunderland had been in talks with O'Neil last night, obviously going to happen now.

His own fault really. Spent a load of money but never brought in a decent replacement for Bent.

He was £#%&!ed when gyan said he no longer wanted to play for the club and he couldnt get a replacement in. No strikers no goals.

That's it. Lost Welbeck, Bent and Gyan in what, 8 months, and only really managed to bring Bendtner and Conor Wickham in. Lost Onuhua (sp) and one or two others as well.

Gyan properly shafted him

That all said, it seems that no matter how well he gets his teams going/builds his squad, every club he has managed has a long spell in the season where they just can't buy a win don't know what causes it. Last season, they were going great guns first half of the season, then went something like 15 games without a win and nearly got dragged into the relegation battle.

Odd.

As you say, the same was true when he was at Birmingham and Wigan. Points to some sort of flaw in his methods??
