Default Michael Carrick yesterday

absoultely superb performance especially when we were under it second half

Ferdinand was man of the match though when he plays like that he is the best in Europe in his position, brilliant display

I'm looking forward to him stepping up again while Scholes is out.

Agree....Ferdinand was absolutely immense yesterday. One of his best games in the shirt. Delighted for him and pure.

Again?

His performances without Scholes have been relatively poor IMO. I'm hoping Ferguson will stick Giggs in the middle, but I suspect it'll be Super Fletch

Fletcher is out injured for 2 weeks.

It'll be O'Shea or Giggsy. Latter I hope for the two home games. Not arsed re Boro away.

I'm not looking forward to Carrick stepping up at all. I like Carrick; I think he's been surprisingly and increasingly good this season (until recently), and a fine foil for Scholes - but much less useful without him. And I thought he had a very poor game yesterday, the latest in a run of bad form.

Thought he did quite well tbh, second half more so. Scholes was excellent first half but I thought he faded quite badly in the second half.

Edit: The 3 game suspension might do him good tbh, back in time for Pompey?

ffs he was quality yesterday...watch it again and you'll see, honest

Park's been poor recently when the stepping up chores have been handed out...still it's only the pig£#%&!ers and the Yonners Scholesy will miss in the league

How can anyone say Carrick has been "surprisingly" good?

What's the surprise? He's a quality footballer. He did well enough yesterday.

Giggs will boss the two up-coming home league games, no danger.

And Ronaldo will score at Boro'

I didn't think he'd be as good for us as he has been, when we signed him; and I didn't think he'd combine that effectively with Scholes. So far, it looks as if I was wrong, and I hope I get wronger still before the season's out. Hence "surprisingly".

I'd say Carrick has had a little dip recently but the curve is still on the rise overall.

It happens with players.

Don't concern yourselves, the Waterford Wizard is in fine form and will step into Scholes' position seamlessly.
