we do need a someone in there with a bit of drive and actually tackling ability.

I know we don't have that right now - but the right purchase(s) in the summer would give us the right options, as in many games Scholesy and Carrick can boss it and just £#%&!ing pass it around people like its a peice of piss but on occasions we need some bite.

On an unrelated matter - what was the giggs free kick for?

Was being pulled back by Steve Finnan.

looked a bit of a soft one to me, i've replayed it a few times and it just looks like giggs was crowded out and lost control.

Not that i'm complaining

It was the first free kick we got around the box all game, Ref gave us very little today, thankfully the linesman was on his toes for the Bellamy goal.

Looked like Giggs wa being pulled back by his arm.

Alonso was doing exactly the same to Scholes

Funny how these things even themselves out really

Clear penalty on saha as well wasn't it?

Yeah i dont know about the saha one, could of gone either way, takes a ballsy ref to give a PK on a 0-0 late on and again, the tv angles were not great.

He did swing but he didn't actually want to punch him, if he did, he'd have caught him. It was one of them where you're so wound up (because he had pulled him back) you just kind of do a gesture near them.

The Sunday Express is hinting that Scholes may be banned for 4 games as it's his 2nd red of the season (remember that one in the Amsterdam thingy pre-season).

I read that too, a worry it might be the break Barwick needs to turn it into a lifetime ban.

Why should the "friendly" sending off come into the 2 red card equation?

Why does the 5 yellow card suspension stop at the end of February but the 10 yellow card suspension (2 games) continues until the end of the season ?
