That's one way of looking at it.

Perhaps the other way of looking at it is that we are doing absolutely £#%&! all but giving off the impression that we are interested in the best players. A bit like Newcastle used to do.

Personally I don`t think we have bid on 75% of the players we are reported to be interested in.

It maybe the case that you can have this player but we want this for him? A bit like Tevez and his agent possibly. Anyone who advertises that they have big bucks to spend is going to get harrassed by agents wanting a cut of the big fee.
