The raw ability of the guy is scarily good, maybe a move to a bigger club could be the making of a great player there. But christ his fee would be something ridiculous. 30m at least.

hulk is very promising, great attitude and scares the shit out of defences. he's got loads to learn but on the left of a three or through the middle he's a right handful.

not sure he'd be so expensive. iirc he's not likely to make the brazil world cup squad, which won't help them bump the price up.

Exactly, although he was still dangerous in the first leg.

That suspension was ridiculous. They banned him for four months, but later overturned the decision and reduced it to three matches. He missed about three months of football in the meantime

The lack of action due to the suspension won't have helped either. But the result may be that Porto wait another year and hope for his form to pick up and increase his value. That said, an offer of 12-15m would give them something to think about. To be honest, another season at Porto may do him good, but in terms of the raw materials he'd be a great fit at United. As you say, often plays on the left of a front three, so there's good versatility there. The story goes that when we watched them ahead of the Champions League tie last year, our scouts were very impressed with him.

£30m are you crazy? Even Lucho Gonzalez wasn't sold for that and he had a much bigger reputation.

I wasn't suggesting United buy him.

Now that is hilarious. He was the villain of the superclasico after he missed a half-dozen clear chances, but later scored a hat trick against hapless Racing, and now he's been in 'brilliant form.' Half the River fans still hate him for that Boca game. He had death threats all over his Facebook.

tbf though, he has improved remarkably in the last two months, and may well have a big future. But he's only 19 and is a million miles from being ready for a top European league.

He's actually an American citizen, moved to the US as a kid and played his football there, then won a reality show competition for an MLS contract. He scored a goal on his debut for FC Dallas and got spotted by River, who have a parent club relationship with Dallas.

They got his name wrong, too: it's Rogelio Funes Mori. He has an identical twin brother at River, Jose.

Looks like Fergie is looking at the South American market. And it's about time tbh. If we're going down the 'cheap' route then South America is the best place imo. You can pick up very good young players cheap there. Or even players who aren't very young but will shine in Europe.
