Ridiculous its taken this long. There's been young lads reveling in this decline as it gives them the chance to earn their stripes in the eyes of the older men they are trying to impress, who tease them about 'not remembering Sexton'. 90s > 80s ffs

who the £#%&! worries about impressing a bunch of middle aged office managers at a football match ffs.

Anyone who lived through the 80s following United would know it's something you never want repeated. The only reason these mentalists look back on it so wistfully is because they were younger, probably having more fun in their life at the time and going to the football was a chance for them to act the @#%&! for a weekend.

his contract will be performance related, there will be a clause saying that if he fails to achieve champions league football he could be sacked with a minimal pay off.

Exactly. Giving him 6 years in the first place indicates that there probably aren't such clauses in there.

Fergie probably vetoed then being part of any deal anyway.
