The reality is, it's not the spiteful 'm' singers who are in numbers, it's the ones who see Munich as not offensive, and just part of a reference to us. They see it as the same as 'Berties' or 'Dippers'. That's why it won't be stamped out anytime soon.

There's a difference (albeit very slight) between 'Who's that lying...' and 'and if you are a munich fan..'
they just dont learn though, in any debate in any pubs or whatever they always resort to 'munich' when they run out of ammo, and despite getting @#%&!ted each time for it they still do it.

For the record I've heard a good few renditions of a song relating to those two Leeds fans being murdered...

In most cases it's the stupid minority from any club and should be ignored. The more is made of it the more they'll do it.

Absolutely nothing wrong with the murderers chant imo. It's nothing to do with Hillsborough, it's Heysel and their reluctance to accept responsibility, whilst playing the victim card for 89. No Skaus died as a result of 85, so we're not mocking 'their dead', more their ironic participation in others dying, especially from a set who so notoriously point the finger and claim victim at every turn.

'Without killing anyone...'

Edit - also it's often the whole of OT singing that, and sing it they should.

I don't think he was. But he was saying it's unacceptable, on moral grounds I presume (the whole 'rise above it') and I'm just saying it's something we've got over them, and it should stay that way.

I've always hated the fans insistence on singing songs about teams we arent even playing when I first started going every player had a song of some description, and each one would get an airing, along with the odd favourite, Busby Babes, #@&%! Of all Europe and so on. I can't ever remember build a bonfire for instance.

Take City at Wembley for example, every other word coming from a Bertie was Munich this & Munich that. I had complete strangers (men & women) calling me a "Munich @#%&!" as I walked past them around Wembley. I had to walk through the City end after the game & you would think these morons would be happy they had just got to their first cup final since 81. Instead hundrads were coming out of Wembley singing about snorting Fergie's ashes when he dies
West Ham in the Carling Cup this season was mid boggling, these idiots were litterally foaming at the mouth screaming Munich chants at 100's of United fans getting a police escort to the gound
I can't ever imagine being that sad or bitter that I feel I have to burn a rivals flag/shirt or sing songs about human beings that died in an accident just because they supported a rival team to show my hatred for another club.

We do have more than our fair share of idiots, but the number of these morons seems to be a lot smaller against the likes of City, Liverpool & Leeds. I remember last season towards the end of the campaign 3/4 reds in the upper Stretty spent the whole first half singing anti Liverpool songs for the whole 1st half. We were playing Fulham at home FFS At half time someone said something a few rows back & it kicked off. Within seconds the idiots were way out numbered by the sensible Utd supporters who soon pulled them in to line. They made themselves look right £#%&!ers. My point is that even though Utd do have a small element of muppets they generally get pulled in to line by decent supporters. I don't see that happening at Anfailed or The Council House as the their morons tend to way out number the small group of decent supporters by some distance.

Have heard the song with the verse"you used to sing Munich but not anymore, since 96 scousers lay dead on the floor" more than a few times. Not nice.

To play devil's advocate don't think there has been a game this season when I haven't heard the same songs - Tevez/hate scousers clap your handshands/ 35 years-leeds scum/ysb at former player etc etc etc. Every game - ok when we're playing those teams but every game ffs.

I have had the misfortune to have stood on the kop in the last few years when they were playing city and Arsenal. The ONLY time I heard a reference to Utd was when when one scouser shouted "you £#%&!ing Manc bastard" at Silvestre who was warming up as a sub.

We need more pro-Utd songs on match days.
