Anyone know the monthly wage bill for United?

Man United that is. Must be some serious serious money with all those superstars, what is it we have right now 20 or so full on internationals? pretty incredible. If on average they are making 35k a week x 4 weeks x 20 players = 280k thats over a quarter of a million every month going out on wages! £#%&! me!

It's a lot higher than £2.8 million per month. In 2004/05 total wage costs for the club were above £85m per year.

That's including non-players. As of June 2005, United employed 505 people in total, 72 of whom made up the playing staff. I'm not sure what percentage of the expenditure exactly is on players' wages, but I would imagine that it's very high.

wow, i honestly had no idea that it had reached those proportions, i mean i knew that the wages were high and players like rooney were on a killing, but it looks like virtually the whole squad is on a salary not that far off the top earners. Hopefully the local charities benefit greatly.

The thing that shows the health or otherwise of a club is the wage bill- total turnover ratio.

Ours has always been around, or just under 50%, which is pretty healthy. It's when you get to 70%, 80% or even 90%- hello Leeds, Newcastle. The Premier League average is something like 62%.

But thanks to our caring, sharing owners, we'll only find out the figures for last season in April.
