He always seems to be two weeks away.

Longest fortnight I have ever known to be frank.

I see, it appears (to me) that it is accompanied by a hint of derision, and that makes me sad

I was at a charity bash with him talking yesterday and he said he hopes to get over the injury in the next few weeks.

So yeah "two weeks" Neville.

I like Simpson but he's not done anything to be ranked ahead of Neville.

Looking forward to have Gaz back ASAP. He'll make our side even better once he's fully fit.

.
That makes no odds, hating some of our most senior players is a matk of top redness. See Scholes, Giggs etc.

i honestly believe that a united defence with wes is a better defence than one with gaz nev...

reasons for my madness:

When playing g nev and evra at the back, although they are both great jumpers from a running start, evra has some spring on him, when at the back post on the back foot neither are good jumpers. this is why it is important imo that if paddy plays, wes plays. we always have 3 big lads at the back that way.

also, wes is quicker than g nev, and physically in a challenge there isn't a tougher tackler than wes.

given the time in the team, and a run which he has had to get used to the right back role he is proving he is good enough to adapt and stake a claim to make that position his own.

like most other reds i've always been slightly concerned about wes' concentration, but with rio next to him i think that problem has gone now, and wes just NEEDS GAMES! like any other player...

Rubbish.

Gary Neville has never held us back because of his height.

And why are we worrying about the defensive side of that selection? Evra and Neville getting down the flanks and linking up with our array of attacking talent will be a joy to watch.

I still think Wes has done a very good job, but people have forgotten just how excellent Neville is. Or is it just fashionable to cast him aside and call him '2 weeks'? Clueless @#%&!s.
